Reviews - what others have been saying about us:

Jane - East Midlands Synod

“We have used Wilson Carlile Centre for our residential retreats and training for a few years. The staff are always very friendly and able to meet all our requirements. They cater well for those with different food requirements and the food served is always excellent. Facilities are great and accessible for all our attendees. The venue is well laid out, with the ability to use the Chapel as well. It is easy to find and accessible by public transport. I would highly recommend the centre for all your conference needs.

Jane - Church Army

"The Wilson Carlile Centre is a fantastic place for our training weekends. The rooms we use for sessions are always prepared and maintained over the weekend exactly as we need, and nothing we ask for is too much trouble. The team are willing and friendly. We enjoy excellent meals which are arranged well in advance to suit our needs. No one ever goes hungry and the food is of a high standard. We enjoy a variety of meals from a three-course evening meal to a take-away lunch for those needing a quick getaway at the end of the weekend. In break times we enjoy the indoor and outdoor space at the centre, and the city centre location gives the group lots of options for the longer breaks."

Rob - Sheffield City Council

“We hosted a visit to Sheffield from European partners who came to us from different cities.
As each group featured a mix of adults and young people, it could have been a complex affair. However, all the staff at WCC made everything so easy and straightforward.
The event ran like clockwork, nothing was too much trouble and we were able to run a really successful event.
I would absolutely recommend anyone thinking of hosting a conference to consider WCC first – they fitted our requirements perfectly.”

Graham - Director of Ministry, CPAS

“Wilson Carlile is a surprisingly tranquil centre so close to the centre of Sheffield. We find it works well for us when we have residential conferences of up to 20 people. The food is good, the staff are helpful and the facilities work well for conferences and training events. There is a chapel available, an outside place to sit, a small amount of car parking places and easy access from the station. We shall continue to book Wilson Carlile – because it offers so much at reasonable rates.”

Norman - National Archdeacons' Forum

“Wilson Carlile Centre have often been one of our venues for archdeacons’ training events as well as for archdeacons’ meetings. We have always been very pleased by the level of service they offer, as well as the facilities provided. The food is very good as well! We will be continuing to use them in the future, especially as they are so accessible by public transport from different parts of the country.”

Louise - Church Army Mission Community

“The care and attention to detail that has gone into looking after our delegates at our 2019 May Discernment Residential has been wonderful. The team’s professionalism and flexibility meant that our candidates’ needs were met with ease, from those folks who were arriving on late flights the night before to those with very specific dietary or access requirements. There was ample space for us to have 3 interview panels as well as a private space with refreshments for our delegates. The warm welcome our candidates received, the delicious food and great accommodation all helped to make the residential run smoothly. The WCC Team know how to do hospitality well!
