Following the impact of COVID-19 the Church Army Library is closed to the public. We are working towards making resources available but unable to confirm exactly when that will be.
The Church Army Library is a quiet space with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It's an excellent resource for the study of evangelism and the scope of the library is wide ranging. This is the most significant theological library in South Yorkshire, containing over 15,000 volumes.
If library members wish to return books, there is a box outside the main reception area where returns may be left, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9am and 5pm. No access to WCC will be possible, however.
We look forward to seeing you when it is safe to reopen.
Alongside books on theology and mission are collections relating to diverse areas including world religions, ethics, feminist theology, fresh expressions of church, lifelong learning and ministry among children, young people, older people and the homeless.
There are desks for quiet study and free wifi. Our library is open to those looking for a tranquil place to work, away from the distractions of everyday life. Membership without borrowing rights is £10 a year.Annual membership with borrowing rights is just £30.
If you'd like a residential sabbatical or are undertaking private study, the library can be used in conjunction with our accommodation, free of charge.
The library catalogue is available online where library members can also access their personal records, renew their books and make reservations.
Feel free to contact our Librarian, Liz Bentley, if you have any questions.
